Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

Purchase Here

I've never tried a setting spray before as I don't feel that I have an issue with my makeup not lasting but with a few occasions coming up in the coming months that I'd like my makeup too look perfect for, I thought I would buy a travel sized Urban Decay Setting Spray and see how it works for me!

I went for the All Nighter because it is the one the girl at the counter said was good, so I went with it.

I have combination/oily skin. It is mostly oily but I do sometimes get a little dry skin on my forehead and cheeks. Usually a can go a whole day and my makeup doesn't move too much, I do get oily and the foundation around my mouth might wear off a little but nothing too severe. I want to look good in photos so if I can eliminate these issues then that would be great!

Unfortunately I don't feel like this setting spray does that. In honesty, I don't know what it does. I can't see any difference in how long my face stays on and the spray itself smells like sneeze which makes me want to vomit.

I want to like it so I will keep trying but I don't get it. If you have any tips to make it work better or can recommend a better setting spray, let me know!

What To Wear... Wedding Guest!

The coming Sunday I have a wedding to attend, it is my boyfriends brothers wedding so we have known about it for ages and I have had a whole load of time to decide what to wear! The most exciting part about attending a wedding (in my opinion) is getting to wear a gorgeous dress and feel a little fancy for a day! It is a time to spend some money on a dress and pull out all your favourite makeup which excited me to no end!

This is what I have chosen!

For makeup I am keeping it simple and glowy with a pink theme to match my dress, I will talk you through each products one by one...

Foundation: It is going to be a long day so I have chosen Revon Colour Stay because it is 24hr wear, full coverage and matte which will help keep me looking fresh!

Concealer: I didn't choose this concealer for a particular reason, it is just the one I have been using and loving recently. It is the Miss Sporty 10hr Stay. It has good coverage, doesn't crease, just generally a fuss free concealer! I'm on to my third tube already!

Powder: What else would I go for that than Rimmel Stay Matte in Translucent. It keeps my face matte all day long which is just what I need! Ill be bringing this with me for top ups as well!

Contour/Bronzer: This is a contour kit from Primark in shade light. It contains an ashy contour shade that I will use for definition and a warmer bronzer that I will use to warm up my pale complexion. It also includes a banana powder which I might use to brighten my under eye but I'm not sure on that one yet!

Blush: I wanted a natural looking rosey glow so Ive chosen the Technic Superfine Blush in Pink. It contains three pink shades but I think that I will swirl them all together for a lovely pink flush.

Highlight: I don't want to look to sparkly but I still need an intense highlight. I can't live without it! Ive chosen this Get Gorgeous Highlight by Technic because it is superfine and natural looking but still very intense.

Eyes: I have decided that I don't want to wear eyeshadow because I think it'll be longer lasting to go for a statement liner instead. I have chosen this Urban Decay Razor Sharp Liquid Liner in shade Intergalactic. It is a baby pink metallic glitter liner, it's not too in your face but it is still very pretty and sparkly. It is also water resistant so it should stay put all day!

Mascara: What else would I use than my Urban Decay Perversion. It is my absolute fav!

To finish it off I will coat my whole face with a thick mist of Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray. My makeup will not be moving!

The most exciting bit...the dress!

I am so in love with this dress! It is from Quiz Clothing and was a great price at £79.00. It is a gorgeous dusky pink shade, full length, beautifully beaded at the top and floats like I'm a fairy princess. I literally feel like a Disney Princess in this dress, thats the dream right?!

This bag is a small white faux fur bag with a long gold chain. I felt like I needed something a little bit edgy to go with the very girly dress so this bag really did the trick! It is so soft and cute! Primark, only £7.00!

Look at that beading! So lovely!

These shoes are my babes. I bought them last year from Schuh to wear to another wedding. They were so comfortable for the whole day, so pretty and i've only worn them ones so I decided I just had to wear them again!

I went a little over the top and even bought a little silver shell shaped hand mirror so when I'm reapplying my lippie during the day, even my mirror will match! Sad I know!

For Jewellery I want to keep it simple with just a pair of simple gold studs. I bought this pack of six from Primark and will probably just choose a pair on the day! Gotta leave something undecided!

So, that's my outfit! I'm super excited to wear it and even more excited to attend the wedding of a wonderful couple!

The only thing I haven't chosen is a lipstick to wear, any ideas?

Glitter For Grown Ups

I am a 24 years old (25 in a few months), I have my own home, responsibilities and am even getting grey hair so am I getting too old for glitter?

NO!

I feel like when women get older we shy away from bold colours and styles such as a glitter eye in favour of more grown up nude shades. Anything to try and make us look professional, grown up and more youthful.

I get that but for me, makeup is about fun and experimentation of which I am not ready to let go of! I am proud to say that I do still rock a glitter eye on a casual day, I do wear colour and I don't care what people think because I like it and thats all that matters.

For todays post I am going to talk about how I incorporate glitter into my everyday look!

First look is a simple one. I do this so often!

I simply do my usual makeup, natural and everyday but instead of my usual inner corner highlight, I replace it with a little hint of glitter.

Prime the lids with your usual primer then powder it down with a little almost skin colour shade or just your face powder, I then add a bit of bronzer through the crease to add some dimension but this isn't a necessary step if you don't fancy it. Apply your mascara as usual then using a liquid glitter liner just pop some in the inner corner in the same way you would your inner corner highlight.

Ta Da! This is my absolute favourite way to rock glitter!

The next look is the same as the previous so follow the same steps then just pull the glitter all the way along your lower lash line as well! Super easy, super natural still but just that little bit extra for the days you are feeling more sassy.

I also sometimes do this for nights out if I'm not feeling anything to over the top because it still looks put together but also the lights in bars/restaurants really bounce of the glitter and looks incredible!

These are my three most used glitters, top is by Tanya Burr Cosmetics. This is a goldish bronze and has a thinner consistency which contains more sparse glitters so this is a good one if you want something toned down.

The second is Glam Rocks by Collection in shade gold and it is my most used, most favourite glitter liner ever. Collection does a variety of shades and they are all fabulous quality for a total bargain price. The glitter is finer and provides more impact, this is the liner used for todays looks.

Third is another Tanya Burr liner in silver. Again, sparse glitters perfect for a more toned down look.

What do you guys think? Are you tempted by the glitter life?

Models Own All About Brows

I had been using Urban Decay Brow Box in Brown Sugar for a long time and when it finally ran out I decided to try something different. The issue with brow kits/boxes is that I only use of of the powders so the others go to waste, my Urban Decay Brow Box still had the lighter shade completely unused and the wax almost untouched. So, it seemed like a waste of money to buy another box that would go mostly unused.

The Urban Decay Brow Box costs nearly £20 where as this little Models Own kit cost just £11.99 and it came with good tools and a clear brow gel. It felt like a great bargain, as I swatched the darker powder in store I was praying the pay off would be good and I was very pleasantly surprised!

The quality of the powders is just as good if not better than my UD Brow Box, very pigmented and smooth but not too harsh. Sometimes an overly pigmented brow powder can make creating a smoothly defined brow really hard but these powders apply beautifully.

The packaging is lovely, good quality, sturdy and sleek. With a good sized mirror. It is also very thin which I really like as it fits really nicely in my makeup collection or makeup bag which is really handy for travel.

Two out of three of these powders will go unused which is a shame but at least I'm paying a whole lot less to do it!

I am seriously impressed with this little lovely, I got mine in the sales but usually it retails for £30 which makes it more expensive than the UD Brow Box so unless I could get it on sale again I don't think I would re-purchase but if you are looking to splurge on a good quality kit then I would definitely recommend!

High End Wishlist

One      Two      Three      Four      Five      Six

I have bought makeup recently because I can't stop myself lets be honest but I haven't treated myself to something high end in ages!

I have a wedding to go to at the end of the month so most of these items have that in mind! It's going to a long day, I'm going to get hot and sweaty in my dress and there will be countless photos taken that will be on display forever so I must look my best!

1. Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette

This first one is something I have been lusting after for ages! It is for the wedding, I would likely use it but I want it even if I don't. I have the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette and the quality of the shadows is just incredible! I love a peach lid so this palette is the dream for me! I feel like I haven't got any other palettes like it so it would be a great addition to my collection. (Correction: I have now bought this!)

2. Urban Decay VICE Lipstick

I already have a VICE lipstick in the SHEER variety and I love it. I was thinking I would get another one to wear to the wedding, a pinky shade to match with my dress. I like the SHEER lipsticks because they provide a wash of colour without being over powdering, they can be reapplied easily and they wear off nicely when eating. They are just an easy consistency. The shade shown above isn't necessarily the one I would choose, I think I need to head to my local counter and cover myself in swatches!

3. MAC Lipstick

I have never tried a MAC lipstick so I feel like its a risk to get something I've never tried to wear to a wedding but none the less, I'm tempted. Again, not necessarily this shade, i'd need to get swatch happy.

4. Benefit They're Real Double The Lip

These are such a cool little idea, they are essentially a lipstick and liner in one. So they can be applied together to give a fuller looking pout. A really good idea in theory but I had my doubt as to whether they would work that well but so far reviews have been good so I'm seriously tempted to pick one up!  Another option for a wedding lipstick.

5. Urban Decay De-Slick Shine Control Complexion Primer

I rarely use primers but considering how long a day weddings are, I think it might be a good idea to get myself one! I am can also become a bit of an oily mess so shine control is an added bonus! Only issue is that reviews for this haven't been great so I'm on the fence and I do feel that £23 is over priced for the small amount that you get. I really want it though!

6. Urban Decay De-Slick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray

On the same train of thought as the primer, I'm trying to control the shine and make my makeup last all day for the wedding and just in general as I feel that my makeup doesn't last long enough these days! Im thinking I'll got for the travel sized as it seems like a very good size so why spend more on the larger one.

How you tried any of these products? Whats worth the money and what should I forget about? I'd love your opinions!

My Top Five Blushes

Left:      L'Amore     Babe     Bang     Cherry     Sunny Peach     :Right

You know what, I had never been a hug fan of blush until recently. I wore it but I wasn't too fussed and I felt that they all looked pretty much the same but I am starting to realised that if you find the right blushes in the right shades with the right pigmentation then they can really complete a look.

I've been loving the most out there shades recently, beautiful bright reds, hot pinks and more natural corals.

You don't need to shop high end to find pigmented blushes but you do have to shop around as I find that the cheaper blush options aren't always the best. Saying that, I have shopped around and these five blushes are all under £20 each with the cheapest being only £3.

I have pretty much only been using these five recently, alternating them based on my mood of the day.

From Left to Right (same as above)

MakeUp Obsession - L'Amore

MakeUp Obsession is quickly becoming my favourite brand, these blushes are £3 and they are so incredible pigmented and long wearing. I am in love with them. L'Amore looks like it might be a little overbearing, it is very bright swatched but on the cheeks it looks so natural and lovely.

MakeUp Obsession - Babe

Another gem from MakeUp Obsession, Babe is a more everyday peach shade and it is my favourite ever. It is so pigmented yet somehow never looks over done no matter how much you accidentally slather on.

Urban Decay Afterglow 8HR - Bang

Bang is such a unique shade that I knew I had to have it. I thought it would be fun but not very wearable but I was so wrong! I love this for everyday but a light hand and major caution must be used! This is the most pigmented blush on planet earth. I find it best to use a huge fluffy powder brush, dip in the blush very gently, tap off then apply gently. Layer if necessary but you need to be careful with this bad boy!

H&M Pure Radiance - Cherry

Another crazy pigmented and intense shade! Such a unique shade of cherry but somehow it looks like such a natural flush on the cheeks. Again, a light hand is a must but when used right this blush is glorious.

H&M Pure Velvet - Sunny Peach

This is the only cream blush I have included. I really like a good cream blush but I always forget to put it on before I've powdered so end up having no choice but use a powder blush. When I do remember however, this is inevitably what I am using. Sunny Peach is just that, it is a pinky peach with delicate shimmers. I really love it for a natural makeup day.

What are your favourite blushes?

Primark Lip Kits?!

We have all been bombarded with the Kylie Lip Kits and all the copy cats that have come out since, I have been equally interested in the hype! I have never tried any of the Kylie ones as I refuse to pay for the shipping and possible customs but when I saw these little loves in Primark for the crazy low price of £3.50 for a set, I knew I had to have them!

I really like Primark makeup, considering the crazy lower prices I have been continuously impressed by almost everything I have tried from them. These shades are so on trend and unique as well which really really attracted me. Especially the grey which definitely doesn't suit me but I kinda love.

These do not have shade names which is annoying but the liners are called PS... Insta Girl Waterproof Lip Liner Pencils. They are shown in the first and third swatch as seen above. They are very smooth and pigmented, going on well in one swap but they are also quite forgiving. They glide over the lines of your lips very easily without causing wonky lines which is something me and my wobbly hands struggle with.

I haven't worn them for huge periods of time yet but from what I can gather so far, they do last well.

The second and fourth swatches are the PS...Insta Girl Intense Liquid Lipsticks. They are described as a satin finish and I would agree with that, they do not dry completely but they do set down and seen to have good staying power. They are a little sticky but I do really like them, I can imagine myself wearing them a lot!

Shade wise, they are lovely! There were only three shades in the store I went into, there may be more but the other I saw was a bang on trend nude but I didn't get it as I can't pull off a light nude.  As I said, these are unnamed but the mauve shade is my favourite, very wearable and something that would suit most skin tones in my opinion. The grey is super unique and I kind of love it, it is very stand out, very opaque but I'm not sure it suits me. It would look incredible on someone a bit cooler than me though!

Overall, these are great! If you want to jump on the lip kit bandwagon without the costs, heres where
 to start!

PS... Precious Metals Liquid Eyeshadow

Primark is killing it at the moment with incredible makeup. I grabbed these because they looked cute and for £2 each I thought why not, lets see. I didn't have high hopes for these as I feel that liquid shadows are hard to get right but I love these! I have used them almost everyday since I bought them!

The packaging is nice, a simple long tube with a gold top and a sponge tip applicator for the product. Pretty standard but it works. I'm not particularly impressed with the packaging but they do what they are supposed to do so thats fine.

I don't think these have shade names which is annoying but the top swatch is a lovely copper shade and the bottom is a true gold.

The swatches you see above were created with just one swipe of the applicator. How incredibly pigmented is that?!

I tend to use just the one product on my lids with these, they adhere really well and last all day. They eventually start to crumble away but that literally does take about 12 hours to happen (yes, I wore it for that long!). I use them by putting a few swipes in the centre of the lids then taking my finger and spreading it out over the whole lid and blending it into the crease. It is such a quick product to apply making it great for a rushed morning when you still want some impact on your lids.

The one and only down side to these beauties is that they dry soooooo fast. You have to move at lightening speed otherwise it dries and you can't blend it out. It is a good thing because you don't have to faff about waiting for it to dry but you just need to be sure you get the blending out done pronto!

Overall, I am loving these! Especially the copper, I strongly suggest you get your butts down to your local Primark and buy them!

Holy Grail Mascara...

"Bigger, Blacker, Badder..."

Urban Decay Perversion. Oh My God. I have fallen head over heels in love with this incredible little wand of amazingness.

This mascara has been on shelves for while but although I adore Urban Decay I never tried it because I feel like in general, it wasn't adored by anyone else. It's not that it had been badly reviewed at all but it didn't seem to have made its way into many beauty gurus makeup bags and managed to stay there.

I happened to receive a little sample size and thought I would give it a whirl.

As you can see, I then bought the full size as I loved it so much!

Firstly, the name is great. Perversion is such a great name, unique and sexy. It strangely actually does sum up the mascara really well, this mascara gives huge fluttery and very sexy looking, seductive lashes.

The tube is a gorgeous colour, a sort of gun metal but slightly more on the black side. The font is a lovely lilac which provides a delicate edge to the gun metal, the tube feels light but also expensive. It is so very sleek and extremely photogenic.

The brush is chunky but not too chunky, I find that fat brushes are hard to use but this is just the right size for easy application and doesn't leave you with smudges on your lids (worst nightmare).

Look at that though! Look at it!

I am lucky to have long lashes anyway but what I need is colour and definition which I get in bucket loads with this little beaut.

This is photograph shows how it looks on me with just ONE COAT! Another reason why I love it. When I'm in a rush (like most mornings) the last thing I want to do is sit and layer after layer my mascara. It's tedious and time consuming. Perversion goes on so effortlessly, separating and lengthening the lashes in one swoop.

It doesn't smudge and it doesn't loose lift thoughout the day. Stays perfect all day.

I am very tempted to go and get the corresponding primer as well, Subversion.

This photo speaks for itself in my opinion. Must. Buy.
