Devon 2016

Myself, my partner and our puppy, Watson, have recently returned from a wonderful week and in glorious Devon. We stayed in Woolacombe which in recent years has become our most favourite place to visit, it is one of the most beautiful places in England in my opinion with its vast sandy white beaches, crystal clear waves and countryside. We devoured cream tea after cream tea, eat ice cream on the beach and watched our pup encounter the sea and the sand for the very first time! He loved every minute! It's time to get to know the blogger behind the blog. Facts about me, my life, my family. If you have any further questions please do ask me in the comments and I will make it my mission to reply!

Firstly, my name is Amy.

I am 23, turning 24 this coming Sunday. My birthday this year falls on Fathers Day.

My parents separated when I was 14 and I stayed living with my dad, my sister and my little brother. My brother was 1 when they split so I helped raise him. Taking him to school everyday and doing anything else my dad couldn't be there for.

My sister recently has a baby, my little niece, Evie.

I live in a small village in a cute little one bedroom house with my boyfriend, Liam, our puppy and our five guinea pigs.

Our puppys name is Watson.

The guinea pigs are called Kansas, Ramona, Nova, Stella and Rocket.

We had more guinea pigs as I have an addiction but sadly last year three of them died. 

Liam and I have been together for 4 years in August and it just feels insane to have been together for so long, it has gone so fast but at the same time I feel like I've known him forever.

We have never been abroad together but are planning on doing so next year. We do however love holidays to Devon and Center Parcs which is odd because I am not very outdoorsy.

I am a make up addict and have more than I know what to do with. Yet I still continue to buy more. 

I am not afraid to be creative with my make up so will happily rock crazy colours and style.

My favourite cosmetics brands are Urban Decay and Revolution. 

I like to dress nicely but I don't really enjoy clothes shopping and tend to stick to safe options then accessorise them to make it more exciting and put together.

I wish I had studied something animals related as I have a huge connection with animals and would love a career with them. I also love customer service and working with computers so a combination job would be amazing!

I love decorating and diy decor which means that I live on Pinterest but rarely ever pin anything. 

I have on obsession with rose gold and gold, I know everyone else is over it but I still love it.

I am a seriously fussy eater, I don't like fruits, vegetables out salad so it can be really hard for me to eat healthily. 

It is also really hard not to end up with a burger in ever restaurant I go to.

I require a lot of sleep but am also a night owl so I often dose off during the day.

I have a fear of greasy hair so I wash mine every single day without fair.

Despite this, I am super lazy and almost never style it or straighten it. 

My hair also rejects hair dye so I have always had the same colour hair because whenever I dye it the colour will be gone in a few weeks.

Im really OCD with organisation. Everything needs to be in the exact right place and sitting at the exact right angle.

This drives my boyfriend mad because I will moan about him not hanging the towels the way I like or putting the cushions on the sofa they correct way.

I love movies and have a huge collection but I am also very critical and am hard to please.

I have a huge range of musical tastes, from heavy rock to country and everything in between.

I am extremely shy and nervous in my places and around new people and this often stops me from doing new things.

Goodness, I have no much more I could tell but I don't want to bore you to death. Hopefully you know me a little better now but please ask me if they is anything else you would like to know and maybe ill do a part two to this post! 

Two Weeks of Instagram

I haven't done a post like this in what feels like forever! But I thought now, with my viewers rising, it would be a good time to do an update. 

You'll notice a theme here, Watson! Almost every photo I take at the moment is of my puppy and I have no shame because he is beautiful. My instagram doesn't follow a theme, I don't take it too seriously and I post whatever I like which is mostly my pets and makeup so I feel like my instagram is a great way to get to know me and what I like!

Watson!

We got a dog! We have been wanting to do this for so long and thanks to a tax refund we found ourselves suddenly able to afford it! We had wanted a Cocker Spaniel but we saw an advert online for this little guy and instantly fell in love! He is a pure breed long hair chihuahua, 13 weeks old and crazy! It has proven hard to get a decent photograph because he is always moving so one with him sleeping with have to do! 

We are completely in love and even though he is proving a bigger responsibility than we anticipated, we are so happy we got him and are looking forward to spending our lives as a little family.

August Favourites

August has felt like the longest month, I've been endlessly bored while being endlessly stressed and annoyed. I am so happy to say goodbye to this month, saying this though, I have managed to find some amazing favourites! 

Since it has been such a crappy month, I have mostly (actually all) comfort favourites and by that I mean favourites for lazy people who need cheering up. 

Movie: Kingsman - The Secret Service

Kingman was released on DVD this month and I just had to buy it since I loved it so much when I saw it in the cinema when it was first released. I never thought I would like this film because it looked quite boyish and I'm not a fan of secret agent/spy type films but it is from the makers of Kick Ass (which I love) so I watched it and was so pleasantly surprised! I will be re-watching this for a while! Great addition to my film collection.

TV Show: Gossip Girl

I seem to have watched everything on the whole of Netflix so I started watching Gossip Girl...again. I  was addicted to Gossip Girl when it was first aired but I missed the last few seasons so I thought why not just watch it all again. Im loving it even more the second time and I think I missed more than I released so I am so glad I decided to re-watch it. I have a major girl crush on Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen)

Food: Cadburys Marvellous Creations Ice Cream

Too many times this month, my boyfriend and I have found ourselves sharing a huge tub of ice cream. These bad boys have been half price in our local shop so I obviously had to try every flavour, the popping candy flavour is literally incredible. These ice creams are so full of sweets, chocolate and marshmallows with toppings in every bite. I would go as far as to say that they are better than Ben and Jerrys.

Book: All The Bright Places

This is quite possibly the most incredibly beautiful book I have ever read and I loved every second of it. I posted a review of this just a few posts ago so have a look back on that for more information!

Youtuber/Blogger: Jim Chapman

I have seen Jim in so many other youtubers videos, mainly in his fiancé Tanya Burrs videos. But recently I have been watching Jims own vlogs and they are so cute! His new puppy Martha, is the main attraction in his recent videos and she is just the most adorable little thing. Jim is super funny and relatable, if you don't already watch him, you should. Like now.

Music: Melanie Martinez - Cry Baby

My main august addiction has been this album. It is the best thing I have heard in such a long time. I have posted countless posts on Melanie recently including an album review of this album so please, please, please look back over them so that you can also fall madly in love with her just like I have.

Random Favourite! Pym!

Last month our beloved hamster Bane passed away, he died of old age and he lived life pampered and loved. He did however, leave a hamster shaped hole in our hearts so welcome, Pym! This photo is not of Pym because he will not stay still long enough to take one but this little guy looks very similar. He is a Roborovski Hamster, he is unbelievably tiny, fast and playful. He loves to dig, throw his food everywhere and run in his wheel until he flips out of it. He is a little monster which we love because he reminds us so much of Bane with his cheeky nature, he will never be able to replace Bane but he is such a little cutie and already feels like part of the family! 

And thats everything for the month of August! It has been a hard month and I'm not sure September will be much better but he's hoping! I hope you all have had a great month, see you in September!

I have had a terrible time recently, the end of university, a new waitressing job and the loss of a pet a week for the past 5 weeks. May has been the worst month and I can't wait for it to be over! Wish me luck for June!

This has been a truly horrible month, worst part being the sudden deaths of two of my guinea-pigs. Due to this and many other issues this month I have been kind of ignoring my blog a little but next month it will be business as usual! Loss

How do you deal with loss? I have experienced a few recently. 

It may not seem like a big deal to most but anyone who knows me, know how much I love my guinea-pigs. I live for them and I have lost 2 in the past few weeks from unrelated illnesses. How do I stop fearing for the lives of my other ones? How do I stop blaming myself? 

I feel like the world hates me at the moment, I've lost two of my babies and I've just received my grades for my degree and they aren't what I was hoping for. I am at the point in my life where I need to get a job, a real job that can pave the way for my future and I just feel like it is being made impossible by university and the endless string of bad luck my life seems to be. 

I have always worked hard, I really try my best at everything. 

But I feel like it's never good enough. 

I know I'm good enough but how do I get prospective employers to know I'm good enough? 

So, I'm asking you all for advice. How do I stop doubting myself? How do I get over all the loss I have experienced and stop feeling disheartened? 

How do I break out of this mindset? 

I really would appreciate your advice! 

Meet The Rodents

                               

   Top to Bottom: Popcorn, Kansas, Ramona, Moon-Pig, Rocket, Bane, Stella, Nova.

One of my main interest in life may be a crazy one but.... I love guineapigs and over the past three years I have managed to collect 7 of them and a hamster.

I just find them unbelievably cute and clever, they all have such different little personalities and each make me happy in a different way. Ramona is the friendly one, Moon-Pig is the greedy one, Nova and her babies Rocket and Stella are the feisty ones, Kansas is the shy one, Popcorn is ticklish all over! Then Bane the hamster is quite possibly the happiest, most mischievous and lovable little boy. 

They honestly cost me a fortune, in bedding, food, illness and just the general costs of keeping them but they are worth it in every way. They provide unconditional love and that is something everyone needs in their lives. I would be a very different person without out them in it.

There will be many updates regarding them on this blog in the future! Let me know if this is something that would be interesting!
