Artist Appreciation: Katerina Kamprani - The Uncomfortable

It has been such a long time since I have done a post like this but I came across this series a few days ago and I just loved it!

These sort of objects are usually down to a product designer, they are carefully thought out designs that have been tried and tested to create a perfectly useful object. Instead of searching for this perfect object Kamprani has purposely designed object that don't work at all. Creating a tongue-in-cheek way to obliterate the intended function.

I think this is an incredibly unique idea and the outcome is strangely beautiful and interesting. I would to get my hands on some of these objects and give them a go, it feels like the objects are challenging you in some way.

What do you think?

Urban Decay afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlight - Review

As you all probably know, Urban Decay is my favourite make-up brand of all time so when they release anything new, I'm on it.

Highlighters are huge at the moment, every brand is churning them out and every make-up loving girl is smothering her face in it. I am one of those girls, how I lived my whole life without highlighter ill never know because it has become such a favourite in my make-up routine. Everyday without fail, I highlight.

One downfall however, is lack of variety. Every brand has a champagne gold or a frosty silver but Urban Decay went above and beyond to give us three beautiful unique shades. The uniquest being "Fireball" which is the shade I bought.

The outer packaging is so gorgeous that I don't ever want to throw it away, it is a pink iridescent card with the shade name clearly displayed and the name of the product classily displayed on the front. Everything about it screams buy me!

The highlighter packaging itself is in a generous pan with mirrored exterior. UD logo on the front which doubles as a peep hole for easy colour choosing.

I love the packaging, it is so incredibly pleasing to the eye and so perfectly compact yet generous. The only downfall is that the mirrored effect collects fingerprints so badly!

The highlighter itself is perfection. The colour is really difficult to photograph and swatch, it is a coral based shade with iridescent pinks and oranges. A very unique colour for a highlight which is why I love it, something different from every other boring highlight. Ive found it to be multi purpose as well, it makes a lovely eyeshadow and even a light blush.

The texture is irresistibly soft and buttery, very pigmented and easy to apply. It just glides onto the cheeks with a fan brush or with a finger for an even more intense colour pay off.

My only fault with this shade in particular is that it is impossible to catch the true colour and iridescent accents on camera! Doesn't show in selfies or swatches! It is incredible in real life but it is just a shame not to be able to share it online. Wow, doesn't that make me sound like such a loser?!

Do you have any of these highlighters? What do you think? Whats you favourite shade?
